It seems like one of my headlight bulbs has gone on the griff and after reading the bible can't make my mind up as to whether to do it myself or not. Just wanted to gauge opinions from anyone else who's done it themselves and whether it was worth the hassle?

When sidelights are on, both lights are the same but put it on dipped beam and the left doesn't get any brighter. Any ideas how much the replacement bulb would be and where to get it from as well?

Cheers - Chris

bulbs are dead cheap and are single contact type, jack it up, take wheel off (it's easier)undo 6 crosshead screws and cut access panel off with an old knife. You might as well do it yourself cos they go quite regularly. Reseal with black or clear mastic (buy it in any hardware shop)

If you're going for it then you might as well get better bulbs while you're at it. Philips Vision Plus available from a few places such as www.mod-wise.com who also do the 'brighter lights kit' which could be worth looking at.

It's quite straightforward, just takes quite a time. It's one of the few jobs on the Griff that I have actually done myself rather than pay to have done.

Halfords do 30% brighter bulbs which seem to do what they say.
