The Griff seems to be using a fair bit of oil. (Hope it's not gonna do the same as the C8ERA did to me!! Especially as I could be made redundant next week due to cutbacks being announced at 3pm Monday Ahhh)
I do about 200mls and it seems to use about a 1/3 of the dipstick between full and empty marks.
How many litres of oil is it from the empty to full mark on a 97' Griffith 500?

i was told it was 2 litres from bottom to top mark which seems beleivable when i see how much im putting in compared to how much it covers on the dipstick.

If thats the case then it's using loads of oil!!!
Gonna get Steve Howard to do a service on it for me next Saturday so think I better get him to investigate oil usage while he's at it! Don't understand it cos no leaks and not any blue smoke to be seen either!

What oil are you using? It may be too thin.

My first Griff 500(94)6 years ago, i took for a blast to Brussels and Paris. I thought i had bought a knackered car, it used almost as much oil as petrol. Changed to Magnatec, much much much better. My new Griff(99) is still on it and i have to remind myself to check as it hardly uses any. Of course the right foot has a lot to do with it! Oh my old griff had 75k on the clock.

The BBQ at the Forest of Dean looks like it is well and truly ON !!

The RV time is 10:00 (sharp) on Sunday morning (this Sunday 11th May) at the viewpoint at Birdlip (here:-) www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=393125&y=215390&z=3&sv=393500,215500&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf
just up from the Air Balloon Pub if you are heading for Cirencester, on the right hand side (turn right to Birdlip, and right again for the viewpoint)

We will be leaving very soon after 10:20 so don't be late if want to join in with the Rumble to the Forest of Dean. The weather is a little unknown at the time of writing so it may well end up just being a rumble to the FOD and to Symonds Yat or something???

Location here:-
www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=362660&y=211395&z=3&sv=362500,211500&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Please bring your own BBQ food ! (Sorry about this but we decided on this instead of going out and buying 600 rolls only to not use them due to weather problems)
