I've just bought a 92 Griff 4l and the heater temp control is not working. I've looked in the passenger foot well and the motor that controls the temp valve is disconected and there are a couple of wires with 4 spade connectors on also disconnected, these get 12volts when I activate the temp buttons. Should there be a relay there? If so what relay do I need or should the motor connect straight to the spades.

Also the round plastic heater vent in the drivers footwell is missing so I cannot close it off, what car is this vent from? or is it a TVR special.

Hi Chris,
I have just been through this with my 92 Griffith.
Basically you will need to remove the heater control to see whats left of it. It should consist of a 12 volt geared motor which links to a mechanical flow valve and two roller microswitches. Mounted on the motor is a simple pin which makes one micro switch when its fully on, stopping the motor and another microswitch stopping the motor when you turn it off.
The motor is available from RS components circa £32 and the microswitches are about £6 each from a good electrical supplier. Email me if you need more info.
As to the duct I havent solved this yet as all I have got is a big hole!!!
