I've put it off for far too long, so, bought myself a Griff today, V 99', 5.0L, pearl grey. Anyone had any gripes, teething probs with similar? p.s it looks the mutts nuts and i still cant believe the torque.

Not bad, but mines £720, age 27, 5,000 miles 9yrs no-claims with A Manning UK. Possibly better I think, but it does go on a lot more than just that! Good to have you onboard. Hit that throttle but go carefull.
My problems were the usual - windows, wipers, seals.
Enjoy.

Welcome to the Magic Bus that is Griffdom. Limber up and stretch out those face muscles - it'll hurt for a month or so. In fact after nearly forty thousand miles mine just ache for a few hours after a drive

Well done, excellent choice, even if I do say so myself!

Yours is considerably newer than mine (and most other Griffs here), but exxentially is mechanically the same, so barring the odd TVR quirk, all should be pretty sound.

Check out the various threads here for ideas about what could go wrong if you must, but personally I'd cross that bridge, if & when you come to it.

Enjoy!

Also my first day of ownership of a 2000X Califorian Sage/Black leather/Alloy dash and bits Griff 500 (I promise to look after it Bruce! )

Took it up to Castle Combe to my SW Regional Ferrari Owners club meet. Was sorely tempted to take it on the circuit but resisted as I think I need to know the beast a bit better first - lots of positive comments though!

Yuk yuk. Before I sold mine it was down to 590 with Direct Line. Unlimited mileage, business use, additional drivers, garaged, fully comp etc etc. Look around, there's bargains to be had!

Don't do that, they taste like shite

Serously though - chasing down bikes and porkers and other speedy motorabilia is just the time when you lose focus on the fact that Griffs can really bite back. If you're not deliberately stepping the back out when it starts to go, you'll need to have some serious skill to catch it and you'll watch the porker go down the road through your rearview mirror.

I speak from experience of the 360-degree-spin-on-the-A414 type...

I've had my Griff since August '02 and it still amazes me, oh yeah, and catches me out. It's easy to take all the comments with a pinch of salt, but seriously, go steady they are an awesome car but they must be treated with respect.

Happy motoring, and I would recommend Steve Heath's book. Any niggles you do have will have a solution in there.

One problem I had was the glove box falling open all the time. Quick fix is to remove the catch, wedge the wings open with a matchstick and re-insert. Last for about 4 months, then new matches required.

Enjoy

In answer to your question Jodypress, I live near Colchester and the Griff was 2 yrs 2mth old on the first of this month! They are a good company and like to give discounts on the premium for various things like experience, track days, skid courses etc, and you have to be a member of the TVRCC. If you want the number mail me.

Pedroman,

Well done that man, I know yours is fairly recent in the grand scheme of things, but have a good poke about underneath and get her blathered in waxoil before the weather turns.

Cheers,

Simon.

The immobiler remotes are sh*te, but I suppose with every thing else being awsome, small price to pay.

Will you get the chance to sneak on to any spare runways with the new toy in your line of work then?!!!
