Had some promblems for the last week and would greatly appreciate any advice/feedback.

The symptoms:

- Whilst at standstill, idle waivers after a short while, then stalls
- Car hesitates under acceleration
- At under 2k revs in any gear, running is very rough/hesitant
- Ocassional strong smell of fuel at start up
- Possible higher fuel consuption than usual

I had a major service done 2 months back, I've cleaned the stepper motor, read Steve's bible, and am stuck for the next step, bar a trip to the dealers...

Any diagnosis gratefully received!

You could try having your ECU reprogrammed by Mark Adams, (I think thats his name!). Mine was done by previous owner and he said that the difference was dramatic.

Sounds like it is overfuelling. Try disconnecting the air filter and see if that improves things. If it does then it is new filter time or see what is blocking it. After that, it is probably a rolling road seeion with Mark. It could be knackered injcetors not giving a good spray pattern as well.

Mine has started doing exactly the same thing this week also after a recent service!? Where did you get yours serviced? I've booked the griff back in next week.

Sounds like a sensor is playing up somewhere so the car isn't fueling correctly.

Cheers

I'd concur with sensor or ECU connectors.

Is it running on all cylinders or have you got HT/suppressor/dirty dizzy adding problems?

It turned out to be knackered Lambda sensors, gummed up injectors and incorrect timing...

Many thanks to Austec Racing of Gatwick for their extremely prompt and very pleasant service
