Does anyone have the 30-50 & 50 - 70 in gear acceleration figures for the Griff 500, looked everywhere can't seem to find any info. I assume the 50 - 70 times would be in 5th but would need to know in what gear the 30 - 50 time is set. 0 - 60 time I know but is not something I'm too keen to replicate for obvious reasons.
I'm basically trying to assess if my own car is down on power, I don't really want to get involved with a rolling road session just yet to find out that there was nothing wrong.
Any info much appreciated.

in fifth:

70-90 mph: 5.2 s
90-110 mph: 5,7 s

for a "standard" Griff 500

maybe even better to check the whole rev range:

40-100 mph in third: around 8 s.

My ex-Jag Sovereign 4.0 was quoted as 50-70 in 4.4 secs - remarkable and one of the fastest in the 'What Car?' lists (before they took the good bits out, like replacing 0-60 with 'seat confort' etc...)!

Simpo - was your Jag an auto? - you get serious acceleration in kick-down with most autos.

Yep! As someone said 'people who spend that much on a car like their gears changed for them' Although let me add I picked it up less than three years old at an auction for £10.5K.

The party piece was to drop it into second and floor it. The trip computer updated every 3 secs so you could see the MPG drop to 4mpg and one passenger likened it to taking off in a jet...

On the subject of acceleration, an interesting thing about the cruise control - if you had to brake then hit 'resume', it would accelerate back to its original speed faster than you could do it with your right foot... bizarre. Rather unsettling I thought!

Try it alongside another Griff on an empty two laner, it will give you an idea.
