I've decided to buy........a Griff
Discussion
after wrangling with Cobra/Chim/Tuscan/Griff thoughts I have decided to go Griff (think I can buy with both head and heart and keeping the g/f happy- bonus "that one is beautiful")
so
mileage - should I worry is 80K plus too many?
and
wheels/hubs - hard easy and or expensive to go for Cerb hubs (so I can upgrade brakes - I want a tinker mobile but only really to tinker to improve)
any other gems/insights/ low mileage 5 litre yellow/red/burgundy/purple about 10-12K Griff burning a hole in your life???
Craig
oh and is there a TVRCC near Nottingham/leicester??
not asking much am I

80k should not be a problem so long as the oil has been changed regularly.so

Checking the underside of the car for chassis corrosion is vitally important especially around the out riggers along the sills etc.
It is not necessary to change the hubs too up grade the brakes for instance on standard hubs my car has 17inch wheels with 330mm front discs and AP racing four pots which do the job just fine.
Join the TVR car club and the monthly mag called Sprint details all of the club events and regions.
Buy Steve Heaths Bible a massive sauce of info and a must for the potential new owner
last but not least spend a little more time on this forum reading and asking questions.
HTH
Pasco
Or buy a Chimaera 500 for 20% less than equiv Griff ,and have more left for upgrades 'cos we all know they is the same underneath .
Seriously though , the Griff is The Iconic TVR ... but Chims CAN attain greatness too.
Whichever Tiv you buy, welcome to the Other Side ...Wisdom is the supreme part of happiness ......

The main thing to look out for with all TVRs is the colour. The fastest ones are always green
Shouldn't that be Rosso Pearl Red? Bluebottle said:

Shouldn't that be Rosso Pearl Red? ditto James Agger checked mine out and took photos of the underneth. All his notes have proved to be 100% correct.
Nearly 90k and fab.
Good tyres and good oil and you are Grinning all the way.
I made a list of requirements prior to purchase and at the end I had none of the things I definitely wanted and lots I said I didn't want!
This has not affected the love of the car.
I also think they pick you not the other way round, so when viewing if it doesn't yell 'take me home' don't buy.
