Had rear offside wheelbearing changed a few weeks ago - it cured the rubbing/squeaking noise that was coming from the wheel.

Now, about 500 miles later the noise is back, but only when the wheel is very hot. 30 miles at about 100mph seemed to bring on the problem and once it comes, it doesnt go until the car is cool. Very embarrasing driving through town centre.

I'll take it back to the guys who changed it last time, but does anyone know what might make a wheelbearing become noisy so quickly? Next door neighbour thought the bearing may have been put in without adequate grease packing.

I had to change my rear wheel bearings couple of months ago.

Well shot and in fact had worn bearing housing slightly oval so had to have these changed as well.

Could it be wear in the housing and at high temp bearing moving in housing causing graunching noise?
