I had the front end of my green griff completly resprayed plus the passenger door and wing mirrors , new smoked perspex covers for the pods, sourced the paint myself and the thinners and lacquer that cost me 440 pounds for parts , the spray job was a further 750 pounds and a perfect job was done took 3 weeks though the colour match was also spot on and the car looks as if it has just rolled out the show room. Next is to get the small scuffs out of the wheel rims , then its the seats , gosh I forgot I want a new hood , I had the panel recovered a few month ago, its endless. Trouble is dont dare take it out now in case it gets dirty !!!

Simpo, only that I've never managed to get touch-up paint level
Anyone tried that "Lanka" stuff that's meant to level of the blob of paint afterwards? Rich...
Yup it worked but I never got the technique right..? I could always tell where I rubbed it off. This was on my departed S btw so didnt dare use on the 500. It seemed that too gentle did nothing.. little harder.. little harder.. nearly there... bugger - little swirl marks in the lacquer.

Ed
The answer is armourfend. David Geralds had sorted my car's nose out before I took delivery and then within a week or so I had it armourfended. You don't need to go mad; I simply had the nose and wing mirrors done. No, it doesn't show; unless you rub polish into the edge. And it definitely doesn't chip.
My father and I have had numerous sports cars armourfended between us and we have always recouped the cost at trade in. Don't discount the lure of a stone chip free car.
