Kenneth, I feel very sorry for you.

Are there any security cameras around to check out for suspicious people around, that time your tragedy happend?
Don´t expect the police to find out, they usually
don´t do or find anything.
And bring those responsible on Pistonhead Court.

Don´t forget, get out to catch another one of the last 100 asap.

After seeing those pictures I am absolutely gutted; I wish you all the best with the insurance company and the payout. I was over at Castle TVR yesterday and they have a silver griff in the showroom. No. Eighty-something, it has just been delivered and they haven’t had time to clean it yet. If possible I hope you can obtain another one quickly to ease the disappointment?

Amazing how those pictures bang it home. I really don't know how I'd react if I came home to that scene. Deepest sympathies.

Words escape me right now other than to say I'm devastated for you , all these people that harp on about the queen mother .... she led a charmed life for over 100 years , that Griff was just a baby.

Ken

I'm speechless mate.... Scum bags.

My only advice would be to ring TVR direct, speak to someone like Danielle (who is brilliant) and I'm sure they would build you another Griffith exactly the same with the same production number. (ie: 41/100 or whatever it was) No harm in trying.

My heart goes out to you....

Not much to say really, what a waste - all because some scumbag couldn't have it away. The same thaing happened a few years back to my (late) Grandfather, he was disabled and relied on the car to get about. Some git tried to nick it - couldn't so they torched it. In the boot was also his 'scooter'. So not only had he lost his car, but also any means of getting around.

The Police weren't all that interested, even when somebody dropped the names and addresses of the culprits through our letter box.

Sad, but a fact of life - they probably won't get caught.

Relly sorry mate, not much else to describe what's happened - could have been anyone of us.

Those pictures almost make you want to cry if I ever had to stand and look at that scene I don't know how I would react, but Flashers idea is a good one if the insurance pay out new for old as it's less than a year old and the factory do perform I'm sure they would earn the respect of every one on here for sure. Keep us informed of the progress and lets hope for a reasonable outcome (I can't say good because whatever happens it means loss of NCD and possible "no we won't insure unless garaged)

Another thing it reminds we of if any of us are ever in a situation were you get there while its still saveable DO NOT jump in the seat and pop the bonnet to put the flames out. I was warned a few years back by a firefighter in hampshire about a spate where the scroats put hyperdermics sticking out the seat before they torched it to "get" the fireman when they did exactly that...there is no end to the sickness of some

Kenneth, you can tell from the amount of postings resulting from the torching how absolutely everyone sympathises with you. I have been the victim of one incident of car vandalism and an attempted break-in - causing damage... minor compared to your case, but I found that it's the feeling of violation that really hurts. Hope it all works out for you.

Ken,

Very sorry to hear about your Griffith and see those pictures. If you want to replace it with another Griff then Flasher's comments about giving the factory a call could just help. Despite hearing stories of the last Griffs having all now rolled out of Blackpool when I was up there last week there were still up to 8 or 9 in various stages of production. One Griffith was only still just a chassis - so it may not be too late.

Good luck
Mike

That's appalling. There is nothing that I can add to what has already been said. Deepest sympathies.

I hope that you manage to get a reasonable settlement out of the insurers and get a new one asap.

Best wishes

sorry to here the bad news. I do not know if this is of use but I heard of a guy who lost a rolls royce.Rather than accept a payout he insisted the vehicle be replaced as he had purchased it new they could not replace with secondhand? It took time but he won! Good luck.

That's a good idea of Flasher's. The factory would still have the build sheet/specs and as that no. car will not now exist in any capacity, I think it would be an excellent piece of PR for the company if they could do it if requested, renaming it the number it was /a or something.

I am sure the PistonHead powers that be would lend their weight to any request, as would we all of course – who is the MP for Blackpool?

This is all presuming you want another Griff after your experience of course Kenneth.

Hope the insurance play ball and that you had protected no claims.
