Estoril Wheel Centres in aluminium anyone?
Discussion
John, mine have just arrived in the post this morning. They look fantastic, and the quality is superb
Will be out in the garage later on to fit them.
Many thanks for your efforts, it is much appreciated.
PS. I hope that you don't have small children and you do the parcel wrapping this christmas, as it has just taken best part of 30 minutes to open the parcel, indeed I had to resort to using the wife's tongue to cut through the packaging

I get a fair number of my TVR bits from the UK and have them posted as a small parcel, and it is not too expensive to ship. No big dealer from the shipper's side, mark the value, and at the receiving end I pay the duty/tax that Canadian customs charges.
Just need to know rough weight and parcel size.
Cheers,
Rob.

John, I've got a couple of sets on order from you.
Have you considered having some replacement bonnet stays made up, perhaps like the Steve Heath ones that he used to sell. If so, I'm up for a couple of sets.
I know the stays were rose jointed at the top and were placed at the side rather than the middle, I'm not sure why that was.
If you are not interested then I might have a nose around local metal turners to see whether it is economic to have some sets made up. It won't be for a few months but is anyone interested out there?

Sounds like a good idea. TBH my dealings in China are coming to an end so I'll not be able to get China prices on these... never seen them actualy but if there is limited work in them (unlike the discs) they may be cheap enough to do in the UK.... Pic's / drawing would be good... Have you considered having some replacement bonnet stays made up, perhaps like the Steve Heath ones that he used to sell. If so, I'm up for a couple of sets.

Both the stays on my Griffs are pretty crummy. If I was going to redesign this I would also look to replace the cross bar and then rose joint in the centre of the cross bar, I'm not sure why Steve chose to have it to one side.
I would also consider replacing the stay as well with something of similar material and fixing that with stainless riv-nuts and stainless, domed machine screws. Any thoughts on material, aluminium or stainless. I can't see that if it was made in stainless, that it would add significantly to the overall weight of the car.
Curently in Kazakhstan, returning tonight and have a big building project ahead (my new double garage for my Griffs) but happy to swap ideas to come up with the optimum design.
The other thing I want to do is add a cover to the clutch and brake master cylinders, with silicon gaskets and fixed, again with riv-nuts and domed stainless machine screws. There has been quite a lot of dialogue on this forum and there are some beautiful 'once offs'. I wonder if there is enough demand for some repeatable orders, because I really want to get rid of those horrible, under bonnet smears of silicon.

Mine arrived last Thursday, but the post office had them, and I couldn't get there until today due to Easter weekend!
Even though I am not 'waiting' for them to be fitted, it is tough waiting when you know they are in a building a couple of blocks away.
Well, now they are displayed on the kitchen counter, the family will be so proud of me! Yup, shiny new parts on the granite this time.
Thanks so much for getting these to me - once I figure out the finish and get them done I will post photos.
Cheers,
Rob.
