Estoril Wheel Centres in aluminium anyone?
Discussion
I would love a set. If you can improve on the price that would be even better, but either way put me down for a set. When are you expecting the first batch to be ready?
Perhaps you could let me know.

I am still waiting for details on making a small batch. I chased yesterday. I am looking for the maker to give a commitment on price and delivery time, then I will post details and people can order. Sorry about the delay, but if this goes ahead I want to do it properly. BTW, I'm making nothing out of this - the price you get will be the price I get.
Unfortunately, the guy that did the work is just not reliable enough for me to proceed further with this. I am very happy with the one set of centres he did for me, but I can't get him to commit to a definate price or delivery time for a small batch, so I'm taking this no further. Sorry about that.
If anyone wants to try this themselves, it's pretty simple. Basically, find a machine workshop that can machine aluminium disks on a lathe. Give them an old plastic centre, and ask them to make a copy in aluminium.

I have the same question as before - what type of 'insulating' band will you recess into the inside face to prevent chafing/scuffing/rattling between the wheel and centre and to improve the fix?
Do they oxidise or are they anodised/coated/painted/lacquered?
Can you post up more pix please?

Okay.. thats 3 sets... need another 2 sets and we are off....know anyone else that wants any??
.
One more question.. what do you want to do with them?..?.. may appear a strange question but if you want to paint them, they need to be about .3 / .5mm thinner than if you just want to have them self colour or anodised?? otherwise they may stand proud if the backs are done...

I want mine raw as they will be shot blasted and stove enamelled to match the newly painted rims.

But had them 2 packed in the end... very nice job... A guy called Steve Edwards in Halifax if anyone wants their wheels doing... he has a Chim and does a top quality job

They are actualy C/sunk... thats a WIP picture... may be not as big as the OP's so made some special screws that domed out... just so you got enough hex depth to avoide them rounding off..
Will take some more pic's and post up in a bit ...
Here ya go... a couple of pic's....
of the plate fitted:-

Not keen on the bolt being proud for two reasons, the first being the aesthetics as I just like the look of them being flush and secondly someone could get a chisel to the bolt head to wack the cover off to get at the wheel nuts.
