Today I finshed rubbing down the body work and then gave the garage a much needed tidy up.

Then I test fitted the number plate lights.

Lastly I decide to revist the side repeaters lamps. A bit of surgery on the ones earlier in this thread left me with this.

Here is the end result.

Those side repeaters look gash. Just drill a hole in the wing and fit OEM. If it is a G-plate car this is how it would have left the factory. Fit LED's inside them if electrical tomfoolery is your thing. Just don't c*ck up a great project with gimmicky detailing.

No actual work on the mini to report today but I do have a few new bits for it

Suspension Knuckle Joints

Door Hinges

Uprated Adjustable Tie Bars And Lower Shocker Bolts

24/08/12.3 by russell.grant, on Flickr

Top Arm Repair Kits & Ball Joint Repair Kits

24/08/12.2 by russell.grant, on Flickr

New Suspension Cones

24/08/12.1 by russell.grant, on Flickr

and a load of boring nuts, bolts & washers that I didnt bother taking pictures of. I have a set of Hilo's in the garage somewhere which I need to find for rebuilding the suspension with & just need to find a reasonably priced decent set of shock absorbers now.

Its almost time for me to rebuild all the suspension on my project cars subframes.

I have a set of Hilo's & have bought a full set of new cones, but does anyone have a recommendation for shock absorbers ?

I started to rebuild the front suspension today.

I have replaced the pin kits in the front upper arms, fitted new suspension cones, fitted adjustable tie bars and all bushes are replaced with poly bushes.

I have also stripped down one of the hubs ready to sandblast then paint & rebuild with new ball joints and bearings, next time i will strip the other hub & I need to have a search of my bits & piece and decide what to do about brakes.

I am new to pistonheads and have only just seen this thread today. I read the whole thing this morning with great interest and jealousy that i don't have the time, skill or money to do this sort of thing to my mini. I do have one question though, which i hope doesn't come accross as rude... How much did the roll cage cost?

Dave.

Cracking on well there lad. wink

I went in the garage to work on mine the other day and all I got round to doing was sweeping the floor.
