Hi, my lad has got a Mini Mayfair and all the electrics have ceased working, there is good voltage at the battery, nothing at the solenoid. I think the main +ve from the battery is routed from the battery in the boot, under the car then onto the solenoid. Nothing works at all, so I`m almost certain it`s the main feed, is this wire difficult to remove and replace ? Thanks for any help.

Could it be the earth lead or its fixing to the boot floor?
It is unusual for the "big" cable to break or snap and would surely be noticable I would have thought.
If worst comes to worst, I heaved my old cable out and ran it through the car as I was building it for competition use. It's not that difficult to do, but check that earth first.

Thanks Tony, the earth wire burnt out, so it was replaced and the contact area cleaned, still no power though. I did think of putting a new power lead through the car, it should be cheap enough to buy.

Is the solenoid earthed?
