The lights have been working fine up until today.

First click on the rocker switch and all is well, the side lights come on.

Second click for headlights the near side headlight and sidelight come on as supposed to but the offside headlight bulb appears to be out AND the sidelight goes out. On top of this the blue full beam light on the dash comes on which I think should only come on for full beam. Toggling the stalk back and forth doesn't put out the light but does still successfully switch the one working headlight to full beam.

The headlight could simply be out, but why would the side light go out with it? And what is up with the full beam indicator?

Things to check are fusses are in well and clean. Earth points (There are some on the front of the car as well) and switch condition.

Two things;

> Relays, headlight relay could be on it's way out or just needs a clean.
> Bullet connectors, located on the driver's side wing under bonnet - loose/broken and are shorting out on the wing, or again, need cleaning.

Minis are a pain for electrics! But check those two and see if that helps. smile

EDIT: Yes, as above, also check earth points and fuse sockets for corrosion.

This was it. The connectors under the slam panel were corroded. All good now.
