I bought a Mini 1000 but rumour has it that it's fitted with a 1275 lump

Is there anyway of proving this looking at it externally?

Check the back of the block, if it has covers for the cam lifters it's a small bore, otherwise it's a 1275+.

Unless it is a 970/1071/1275 'S' engine. They also have tappet chest covers.

Engine No.s

if it begins with a 12 = 1275cc

If it begins with a 99 = 998cc

If the engine numbers starts 9F I'd go and put some money on the lottery hehe
