were they slowing down before they failed? it might be that the grease inside the assembly has gone hard. if so- you'll need to remove the motor and drive assembly, strip it out, clean& re-grease it.

Get a mulit-meter and confirm whether there is power going to the wiper motor with the wipers switched on. If there is no power, then check back from the wiper switch 'in' side, then the 'out' side to see where there is or isn't power. If there is power 'out' from the switch but no power 'in' to the motor, then there is a wiring fault.
If there is power 'in' at the wiper motor make sure the earth is ok.
Once the electrical circuit is confirmed as OK you can turn your attention to the motor and rack, in that order.
It's just a question of logic and progressive fault finding.

As above really, check the basic things first such as is there power to the motor and you have a good earth.
If this is the case (which is was on mine) then your next port of call would be this switch:
http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Electric... switch.aspx

It controls where the wipers park but depending on how it fails can leave you with either: no wipers; wipers constantly on or wipers not being able to park. It's located on the back of the motor and is a simple replacement. Worth a try.

The plug on the wiper motor is prone to corroding, looks ok apart from a slight blackening but enough to lose power.
