R53 Rear boost hinges...heads up.

Apparently a common problem but I didn't know anything about it.
Our left side hinge on the boot has snapped and needs replacing.
Symptoms....The boot becomes very difficult to lift and initially I thought it was a problem with the gas lifters but then there was a huge gap between the boot and the rear quarter. After looking at a few of the owners forums it's a circa £300 repair from a body shop is it needs to be welded and is a complete b
d of a job.
So guys and gals check your rear hinges and give them a bit of lubrication if needs be.
