Sounds good to me. I once had a problem with the fan hitting the 'chimney', but that was because I forget that a spacer, about 5 mm thick I think, is needed behind the water pump pulley. Then again, it probably depends on the water pump pulley as there are several different ones of those too. Just have a care when assembling and make sure that you have fan clearance and that the alternator lines up with the fan pulley and the bottom pulley or the fan belt won't last long.
As a matter of interest I looked up the timing covers in my parts list book and there are no less than 7, yes 7, different part numbers for timing chain covers from the 1959 850 up the the last 1275 'A+' units.

What, only 7!
THere seems to be that many varieties of thread/bolt size on this engine.
No doubt (in fact definitely), there have been a few meddlers but....metric, AF sizes, UNC, no doubt Mr Whitworth is in there too.....Some of the threads are a little worn too on the front plate and it's a suck it and see with them. If all else fails I am off tomorrow for some taps and dies..... I think there is at least one thread on the block or clutch housing at the clutch end(obviously) a bit dicky too so they'll do for that as well..
Incidently, talking fans, I ran the engine with the fan/belt off and no rad. What a difference to the noise levels.
Thanks for your help
