Hi Peter, understand the battery box bit, have you ever thought of, or needed, a guard for the front footwells, remember a ROUGH road rally many years ago when a mini came into the half way halt with the floor pushed up under the pedals. Wondered if a guard would be worth fashioning.

I've had a floor pushed up on the navigator's side many years ago, and of course, the floor does get a bit dented from time to time. It's difficult to guard against this without adding lots of weight by double skin plating in that area.I
usually just knock out the dents and re-paint the underneath with Hammerite red paint and the inside with the usual tartan red. I managed to get a tin of tartan red anti-rust paint at an autojumble. I used this to do the sills and it's just the right colour. Bit of luck there.
By the way, my Formula 1400 Enduro car is progressing very well now. Chris Spennewyn is doing the bodywork, in exchange for which I'll build his 1965 Cooper 'S' Woody Traveller engine.
The 1991 Enduro car is having new front wings and a new front panel. Once painted I'll start the mech work. If anyone wants to see it whilst I'm building it and lives within easy distance of Biggleswade, Beds, send me an email and come round - especially if you want to join me in this new F1400 Enduro rallying.
My son and I have just entered the 3+ day RAC Revival Rally taking place next November, so now I've got to make sure the car is perfect. Lot's to do, but mainly just man hours of work.

Good Luck, may your knuckles survive the sharp corners and edges...
