Mini Cooper S Works is now in full swing with a number of cars on the road.

Its hideously overpriced compared to the other conversions though...

And I'll bet a lot of money it won't actually have anything like 200 bhp - going by the rolling road shoot-outs I've seen, the JCW cooper S barely makes any more power than the standard cooper S (they were all running about 170-180 bhp)

And if you look at their old mini conversions... (twin point '90 bhp' anyone?)

Have you seen what goes into it, modified head, new exhaust etc etc.

BBR, AmD and West all get 210-220 with a remap and a pulley!

yep, you get the impression that JC Garages don't know what they're doing They claim it's more reliable than other conversions, but when they don't appear to be doing anything to the power output....

It's great-if you're a hairdresser or a beauty therapist. Let's just praise the Lord that Bangle hasn't got his hands on it though.

If you want all the facts about the New MINI Convertible...

It's coming out at £3000 over the tin-top.

The Cooper and One are being delivered to the first customers in August. The Cooper S is being delivered to customers in October.

The UK will be getting the car approximately 2 months before the rest of the world.

Orders have completely sold out for 2004.

You've got to know the right people and be prepared to pay ££££'s in premiums if you want one and haven't already put your order in.

Cooper and Cooper S owners will be able to choose their hood colour. (Blue, Black or Green)

The boot hinges look great and work brilliantly too. Style and Function!

No more Flags or Targets, the only roof to have on your MINI is the kind that folds away in 15seconds.

Hope this answers your questions.
