Whomever was the genius behind this obviously hadn't contemplated that those who look up to VB probably can't afford an Evoque and those who can, see her as the devil and the last thing they'd like to be associated with.
As much as I'd like to say I didn't care about the tie-in, I'm now even happier I sold mine. It's no worse than when Mercedes appointed Wayne Rooney (and family) as a brand ambassador. Vettel Edition Infiniti kind of wins.

I'm not sure what he ever did for them (his Dad did get one of the cars nicked by leaving it on petrol forecourt with the keys in) but it was cost MB £500K a year.

You can't go to the tip in the automotive equivalent of a 'man bag'.....but in the Defender...from Bond St to the beach....never out of place. Try one. You have a woman's car my lord! I'll wager that car's never seen the deep rut of a muddy field or had alloys swiped clean off in a rock slide! Brilliant J-P! Personally I just see the Defender as old and utilitarian - I had no idea that you had to be a man to own one .....

Good point although in Robbo's defence the girls I've seen driving them are also distinctly utilitarian too Or horsey types

It's mainly the Brits who don't accept her new career and still marvel at just why the f k she was called Posh. True. I'm pretty much indifferent about VB as a person - don't really care - but have to laugh when I see comments about her being seen as dumb...heck, wish I was stupid and vacuous enough to make millions! lol She has marketed herself in a way in which Business wants to use her to make themselves - and her - lotsa money and it's a success story. She has very, very little to do with any 'design' work for LR - 'Look Love, which colour from this swatch do you reckon we should go with?' Or ' Do you like what we've done here, neat innit?' Make her feel involved, use her Brand to sell car's in China. Excellent tactics JLR! Meanwhile the Brits who don't care for her image will buy the RRE on the merits of the car alone. Win-win!

Whilst the evoque is a great car, it isn't as practical as I hoped, so its up for sale. its a very high spec 3dr Si4 Dynamic petrol in black.
I dont want to break any forum rules by linking to it, but if anyone is interested just pm me and I'll send a link. Can cut a good deal for a PHer if sold quick as another PHer has a FFRR lined up that I dont want to miss.

I hope you get someone for yours, I got pretty much trousered when I went for a quick sale on my 3 door dynamic Si4 a couple of months back, ended up selling to the trade to someone who flew from London to Aberdeen and drove it back down......selling so soon wasn't a pleasant experience, most money I've ever lost on a car in 8 months!

I've lost worse. But not as much as the guy who is selling me his 6 mth old overfinch. he's losing well into 5 figures, on a car with 3000 miles.

I lost into 5 figures...... I thought Evoque's had massive waiting lists (and therefore decent residuals)?
