I thought about this project whilst struggling through swiss cottage this afternoon.
What steering wheel are you going to go for?
A polished moto lita with a leather rim matching your dash wrap would look good.
Chas has a source for bespoke enamel badges if you need any - I remember him getting one for his z06 because the factory item wasn't up to his standards!

Not sure about the steering wheel.
I've had a look around for some ideas but not been inspired yet.
Chrome would be good but I'm not sure it wouldn't mean chroming a few other things and then where do you stop?
I had one plan to chrome the seat and door handles, air vents etc but then you get to the quarter light handles and common sense comes back and you remember that you're creating a Rangie not a Chelsea bedroom.
If I were to use the Compushift system to run the ZF box then I could add paddleshift. These are either alli or black and alli wouldn't fit with chrome.
I do need to find some replacements for the top dash vents as the plastic ones will look bad when set in leather.
So, would a chrome wheel, chrome top vents and a chrome gear selector fit or be too bling?
It's a fine line.
Likewise with the dash pod. Do I retain that or duplicate the Monteverdi pod and create a different instrument clustre.
It's all about where to stop and until I work that put I can't start.

Donkey Apple; Looks like a stunning project, personally i wouldnt bother with any chrome or bling, plently of current shape range rovers spolit by chav's with no taste!!!
What colour are you going for? personally i would opt for Lincoln Green with a Saddle coloured leather seats with black hand stiched leather dash - (I had a TVR chimera with a cream cover dash which was a pain!)

Bling is extremely difficult to start and then stop at the right point, as you say there are plenty of examples of excess, in my opinion I prefered life when you blinged your Rangie after it had left the factory, rather than the excessive bling the factory adds today.What colour are you going for? personally i would opt for Lincoln Green with a Saddle coloured leather seats with black hand stiched leather dash - (I had a TVR chimera with a cream cover dash which was a pain!)

I love old Rangies. The Overfinch was probably the ultimate statement of the late Classics, but it has been the earliest that I've always wanted.

Lincoln Green is my favourite of the original 6 colours.
I like the light beige interiors but not for me, especially as I am covering the dash.
Re the leather itself, it will be thick enough to have made the original cow bullet proof
. Thin leather is pointless. I can only assume that the donors for many modern cars would not have survived a winter.I have two colour schemes that I'm currently mulling over:
The first and the most probably is incoln Green with a dark chocolate leather.
The second is a more shocking option which is to match the Tiv, so orange with a black interior!!! It would be a very offensive scheme but I do find myself a little bit tempted.

Their work is exquisite though. I've not seen better.
Part of the interior work will involve adding a tool/spares box where the spare tyre would normally be and then a low sliding draw along the base of the boot, for a pair of guns and behind that 2 lift up lids for cartridges etc.
The bespoke cage will also be trimmed.

It's all very slow
The wheels have been dipped and are off to coating, as are the door frames. Once these are done, then all the actual restoration parts back to original will be done. I have complete sets of bonnet and tailgate letters and Wingard mirrors now, so very close to fitting all the exterior trim back onto the car.
I suspect as well that in the next couple of months I will have decided what drive train I'm going with and in the meantime I'll have got may backside in gear and sorted out the suspension et al.
