hello Chaps
update for those following
Chevy 6.3 and most of running gear is now installed
Bulkhead has been painted in keswick green and has been fitted
Note Ceramic headers from Chevy Blazer - they are a perfect fit on the off-side but we have to chop them around a bit for the other side
Gearbox is a ZF HP22 built by Ashcroft Transmissions with stage 2 upgrade(stronger clutches, sprag clutches etc and uprated pump and govenor)together with the biggest torque convertor available and I also had a a late-type Transfer box with 1.2 ratio rebuilt at the same time.

Track day - no way!
Drag race - sure thing.
Colin I have to say that TVR engine I sold you has been transformed by the remap at Austec and the fitting of the manual gearbox.
The space mountain ride we had on Monday proved what a fantastic beast it is.
Obviously the old chrysler 3-speed was eating up the power and taking the edge off the torque but now - wow.
Your 90 is surely one of the fastest out there.
The raw driving experience reminded me of my first TVR - a precat V8S
The cam is a 265 piper - originally TVR's own grind was equivalent to a 285 but there is so much torque from mid-range I don't think that with the manual gearbox you need to change it to a torque-specific one.
See you next week

Interesting project!
There is a lot of work going into the build - while you are at it I recommend you ditch the Terrafirma dampers and fit a set of Fox OEM replacement dampers from Prolinx - they'll let you put the extra torque to good use with much better control than stock components.

Paul Jones at Prolinx is a top bloke and can tune them for you if you give him corner weights etc or even take the car to him.
I have his Fox OEM fitment shocks on my RR Classic Rally car but with a few mods. Remote reservoirs with click adjusters for rebound, high temp oil and seals etc. Worth every penny.

I'll second that - he worked magic on the 12 x 2.0 emulsions fitted to my Bowler - 5 to 10 mph increase in cornering speed and lift-off oversteer significantly reduced. They are due for a refresh very soon.I have his Fox OEM fitment shocks on my RR Classic Rally car but with a few mods. Excellent suspension gives the driver the confidence to use the vehicle to it's full potential.

I am having an LSD fitted to the rear axle and then will see what happens - thanks for the tip.
You may find it more useful in the front.I find its my nearside front left that spins when giving it some moderate power pulling away, if I go full throttle both fronts struggle for grip - not really aware of whats going on at the back end - as I'm busy at the helm trying to keep it on the black stuff.

I agree. Even in my modestly powered Rover V8, it's always the inside front wheel that spins up first when driven enthusiastically on the road. can you see my lovely ceramic-coated K5 Blazer 4WD headers in the engine picture above?
Thank you for the tip.
On the drivers side they dropped in a treat but on the side in view we had to cut them an inch below the plugs, heat them up and bend them in a little to miss the chassis.
We then just welded in a bit of stainless at appropriate angles and had it coated to match - looks factory.
Electrics to finish, roll cage to go on, doors and trim to fit and exhaust and MOT.
Then it's off to scare some old ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2nd-last Genuine Overfinch Disco is no more - that means Damon Orloff has the last one known about.
There are/were more than you think (in fact there was a 5 litre on eBay the other week). If it was a disco then that would be great news but a little bird from Overfinch who had been there from the Schuler days in 1985 told me that 'only a handful' of discos were done, some of which were LHD and went overseas.
The only question is its difficult to price should I ever get around to selling. Anyone got any idea?
