Yes the paint should have 50% mating agent as I asked for. It is not full gloss but still not anywhere the satin I wanted but I am not going to strip it down again to repaint it.

Old and new... albeit not strictly mine.

FILs V8 County versus friends toy - few small differences between them.

Seeing as I'm new here, here's one of mine, a 1981 S3 Lightweight:

Long time lurker but relatively new Defender owner (since Dec 15). I decided I wanted to take mine through something of a transformation, never having worked on anything before but always wanting to do so, and deciding with very little research that the Defender would be my first vehicle of choice. It was in a good state and I'm trying not to reduce its value as I go along...!

After / in progress / so far...

Antenna tuning boxes for wireless communications fit. Antennas mount on the pointy bits.

What 100SRV said, it's the FFR (Fitted For Radio) variant, so it's got a bunch of 80's military radio kit in the back, above the bulkhead.

I've seen those wheels on military Landys and wondered about them.

Are they alloys? Being military, they can't be cosmetic.

They look great but i don't think I've seen them in any civvy models.

They are called Blindos. They are available for civvy models, but they aren't cheap. In fact I am hopefully going to view one with them fitted today. Not the one I'm interested in, but has the wheels http://www.lro.com/detail/motors/4x4s/land-rover/d...

Thanks. They really suit defenders.

How it's currently looking.
Also sporting it's lovely Prospeed underbody protection plating.

I think I'm getting close to tipping over the 3 tons mark with this thing.
Mileage is currently just under 150k.

Really not helping my case for trying not to buy one... despite their foibles something just appeals.
