Proper classic looking RR that.
Thank you!

In all honesty, the photos flatter to deceive but she's a solid old hector and every inch the 'practical classic'

Is the front end standard? Looks to have very original features for a Y-plate.

Almost. It should have a very shallow front valence panel which is missing (and impossible to source new). I've been on the lookout for a good second hand one for a couple of years but, so far, to no avail as they are very thin and do take a bit of a pounding

Very nice! I do like the late 2a with the non-deluxe bonnet, the wheels and tyres suit it too - a timewarp Land Rover!

Splendid... A very early 5door model and I'd guess at a 4spd manual too.

I used to have dents like that on my tailgates too. hehe

Its actually one of the very first with the Chrysler Torqueflite 3 speed auto box. Had it been manual, it would have had the four speed box though.

Keep it, keep it, PLEASE keep it, I have far too many vehicles already and don't need the temptation!

Thats a novel idea, I quite like it. Do you think it would look slightly better in sepia rather than grey so the colour change is less harsh?

Do you actually use that Defender off-road?

If so, I'd suggest you move the number plate. wink

My scruffy ex Army 110:

Defender 200TDi engine, Discovery transfer box, no power steering, no soundproofing, square plastic Army seats. Excavating the various layers of paint I reckon it's been from Baghdad to Bosnia and everywhere in between. Love it.
