Great project Dunk. I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind.

The window waist seals, were they replaced with new landrover parts? I've been looking for these for my own classics and the dealers tell me they're out of production.

Did you do any other modernising updates (besides led lights etc) with the strip and rebuild?

Also what rubber did you put around those rims?
My apologies for the very late reply

My window waist seals are all original, only a few mods have been done, we made a custom heat shield to fit onto
the exhaust centre box, heat wrapped both cats, the leds in the interior lights and leds in the auto shift light indicators, Wipac crystal headlights with upgraded bulbs, polybushes, galvanized chassis which was then sprayed with 3M body shutz coating

The tyres are Pirelli Scorpions
Dunk,

You mention LED lamps, earlier in the year I thought it a good idea to upgrade the rear lamps on my classic as by modern standards they are now pretty poor and I've noticed that many drivers of grey cars are judging their distance from the back bumper via how bright the rear lights are. Long story short, I fitted LEDs and then found that I couldn't turn either the front or rear lamps off. It was most weird, the relay must have been being jammed closed as the switch on the steering cowl became wholly redundant.

Have you discovered any issues using LEDs and if not which make have you used as I tested the water with a set from EBay.

Finally got a result with my insurance company who have given me a decent size
cheque so that i can get the windscreen removed and refitted properly. A shame
Nationwides fitters couldn't do it right first time round.

I shall get this done a bit later in the year.

On another note i located two OE Clarion head units, one didn't work
at all and the other had an intermittent fault where it would switch off
for no reason, very random, would work fine one day then not the next.

I sent both units to the Clarion service center, very poor comms and a month
after sending them i still haven't got them back, they say they can't fix either
of them so i said send them back on friday 10th, they use next day courier according
to their website but still no sign of them on the 16th !!

Not impressed at all

There's a chap who specialises in fixing Rangie stereos. I'll see if I can find his website again.

Thanks for the link, i'd found that place but wrongly chose to send them
to the Clarion service center.

I called them yesterday to find out where my head units are but the person
answering the phone didn't know, not sure why they couldn't just ask someone
who might know then tell me but i guess thats me being a clever dick.

They were going to call me back yesterday but didnt !!!!

Really not impressed now

Looks good. I went for a Becker 4765. Straight out of a freelander so it even has the Land Rover splash screen. Basic satnav nav and most importantly looks like it should be there. A friend has my original so hopefully that will be up and running again soon, not that I plan to fit it.

Been looking at refreshing the rubbing strips, first attempt on a spare strip was to machine out the old section and fit a new chrome piece.
