Things that have gone wrong with your Land Rover
Discussion
Seems I now have R-DOSSS (Random Deployment of Side-Step Syndrome).
I lock the car and sometime both steps retract, or just one step retracts, or one step retracts then deploys then retracts again, or I return to the car later and one (or more) steps have deployed.
There was a different problem with the steps when I took delivery (see previous posts) but this is a recent affliction.
Any ideas please chaps?
P.S. LR AUC warranty applies.

Ahh, sorrr, that was kind of what I meant. I had one a while ago (it was horrible, too slow and kept bashing with it) but I thought since it wasn't fitted by LR dealer it wasn't a LR product - put I could easily be wrong, just an assumption.55palfers said:
Unnecessary moving, electronic parts are a mistake on any Land Rover product. Schoolboy error 55palfers said:
I've got the deplorable side steps on mine.I am not sure whether they look cool or like I've spent my Disability Living Allowance unwisely.

I hope that was deliberate. I am not sure whether they look cool or like I've spent my Disability Living Allowance unwisely.
I got them for nothing actually. The car was in the showroom with them on and I didn't want them, so they were given to me gratis. They are actually very good and my wife loves them, but I suspect they will it some point become unreliable.

I do have a soft spot for them though - it's a little bit of Thunderbirds each time I use the car.

Not my car but I was in my local main dealer tonight and the service lass was discussing a job she was sending through for approval, fairly new defender, ABS control module, £2600 + VAT + fitting. At that point I stopped eyeing up the demo defender in the showroom!
ABS is an option. You don't have to have it. In a Defender, the other car is your crumple zone. Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
