I have an old E36 BMW 325i which has done a lot of miles and isn't in the best of condition. Loads of rust, electrical gremlins, coolant leak, the list goes on. But it's very dear to me and I'll never sell it. However, I recognise that it won't go on forever so I thought I'd best buy a replacement in anticipation of a big break down.

It would have to be practical, but not too big, reliable and not guzzle fuel. I have joined the club and bought a four cylinder diesel.

I pick it up in a few weeks' time. biggrin

Good work. Looks like a nicely refurbed example.
You'll need these though:

Thank you all for the nice comments. It was £5995 before VAT, which is a bit pricier than a lot of them but it's only done 19,100 miles and is in excellent condition so I figured it was worth it since I plan to keep it forever.

I bought it from Witham which is a MOD disposal place. They have hundreds of ex army Land Rovers there (some wrecks, most are OK, some are immaculate), not to mention tanks and all sorts. Fascinating place.

It just sailed through its MOT with one very slightly weeping injector but otherwise in top shape.

It's getting its cambelt done too as these don't come with a service history so there's no way of knowing when that was changed. Even though it hasn't done the mileage to warrant it, it's twenty years old so there's no point taking the risk.

I'm going to change fluids and filters when I get it home.

Can't wait!

Why does it have to be exported?
