My range rover has a heated screen except it hasn't. At best a 2" wide strip works right next the the drivers side pillar.
I imagine there are a coupe of hips but nothing much.
So assuming all the fuses work it must just be the screen, its probably the original. Would an insurance co allow it to be changed just because it doesn't work?
I imagine even with minor changes to costs it would still be cheaper than paying for it myself.
Anyone done it?

Why do you think it is an insurance claim? if the radiator sprung a leak would you consider that an insurance claim?

I wouldn't think that a leaky radiator would be covered, as that would be wear and tear and not covered by a specific, widely publicised additional cover offered by most large insurance companies like windscreen cover is. Or was that not a serious question, were you just being facetious?

OP, I don't think it will cover you unless you were to develop a crack in your windscreen, tonight, accidentally...

Heated elements alone failing won't get a new windscreen.

If the windscreen were to develop a chip which widened into a crack, then you would get a new screen.

Putting cracks into a screen to get a new one is bad. Just saying.

I did wonder whether it might be more damaged than I thought.

They can crack after a good hard frost when you try and defrost it.
Temperature changes and all that.
