'Active Driveline' or something?

Correct, Active driveline has a Haldex type clutch pack for each of the rear axles rather than a mechanical diff.. Efficient driveline is the one haldex type unit/diff.

The actives are very, very good. Plus you get other benefits with them like torque vectoring

Ah, OK. So any idea which Disco Sports will have which, or if they'll be from the off or introduced later? (Perhaps to be introduced with the Ingenium engine?)

UK doesn't get active at the moment. They will be introduced later - my guess is with the introduction of the Ingenium. Don't quote me though, I drive the things but I don't know exactly what spec will come with what options until the dealers do really.

I spent 3 days last week at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Georgia playing with the Discovery Sport. The car is superb, better than I expected and has more room inside than I thought it would. The 3rd row is actually quite usable, I sat with an average sized bloke in the front, average sized bloke (me) in the 2nd row and 5'2" woman in the 3rd row and all were sat comfortably thanks to the sliding 2nd row seats and the extra wheelbase. We had Q5, X3, GLK and RDX for comparison and the Disco was superior in every department. Even drove off road on a challenging course and the car was extremely capable. New nav system was excellent. Expect to see a lot on the road, the car is great.

Excellent, to hear. Mines been built and now awaiting delivery.

Only slight reservation is what 'new line up' of engines is due to be announced for the facelifted Evouque, news on 23rd Feb evidently......always thought the whole Evoque thing wasn't suited to the 2.2SD4 here in UK, I wonder if there is to be a high output engine diesel to replace the 2.2 announced? If so seems politics to launch the DS with the old gear and give the Evouque the new stuff 6 months later. I won't be too happy if this is the case....

The car is being launched here (US) with the current 2.0L 4cyl turbo only and with the older type Haldex AWD system. New engines and active AWD for 16MY.
