Just got my defender 50th back today after it had twisted -1 uprated springs fitted to it.

I have to say I wish I had done this years ago !! I also have updated anti roll bars and steering damper.

I have had defenders, sports and full fatt range rovers but nothing handles this well, there is literally no body roll and the ride is still good.

I normally think all these customised / lowered blinged up defenders are a complete waste of time ....... But I think I am now going to have to eat my words !!

Mine still is used as a defender should be and is dented / scratched and hasn't been cleaned in months but boy does it go !!

Showed our subaru 3.0 spec b a clean pair of heals !!

If anyone is thinking of doing the same just do it !

When you say that the ride is still good I can only presume that your car was modified away from the standard choppy, bouncy, crashy hard intolerable ride of a standard 50th?

It was a bit modified, bushes and some qt bits but not that much

It wasn't crashy, bouncy etc in the first place though

It has always been smooth, just loads of roll !!

So nothing you've had handles as well as this Defender....Right. Even with plenty of mods, its still 2000kg+ of ladder chassis with a high c of g, so I'm not quite convinced.

Anyways, glad you are enjoying it.

Well no landrover product I have handles this well !!

We've had new Range Rover, 2011 Sport, 2013 discovery, 3x 110's, 6 x 90's, an l322 and a rangerover classic and they all rolled all over the place.

In terms of other cars, either of my Ferraris, bentley would handle much better obviously !

Should point out no association with twisted, qt or bowler but I have some of their bit on my defender, thats all.

Was simply trying to say that if people were thinking ( as some have been) about this type of modification then it's well worth it imho.

I had serious doubts about it for months and dithered about doing it because I couldn't find comparisons

And just for balance the wheels don't rub in the arches, it's still goes through the fields just as well and if anything seems to tow the trailers much better !!

I recently bought a Twisted Land Rover, whilst waiting for it they lent me a standard one. To be honest after a week with a standard one I was nervous that I had made a mistake. When mine was actually delivered the difference was night and day, I agree with the OP the difference is incredible. I think with Twisted the perception is that it is a few bits of body kit, that is incorrect it is a complete rebuild, I know as I visited my build regularly.
