Range is an issue though - you'd be filling up 50% more often with the Supercharged versus SDV8.

Really needs to be something that can compete with BMW 50d performance.
Seriously? Don't you need to pee from time to time?

Yes, but I object to motorway services fuel prices (saying that, did 300 miles at about 16 mpg yesterday).

In the absence of the SDV8 Land Rover do need a stronger diesel engine though.

Hybrid adds very little to constant speed motorway anyway, it's doing next to nothing at 95mph, just more efficient charging and climate energy use; but it's good for changes in speed on heavy vehicles. So ideal in a range rover.

Some irony in the fact the 5.0SC remains yet the v8tdi is ditched due to environment issues.

Anyhow it's a Ford motor that 4.4, nothing special really just big n grunty (except it wasn't big enough for the Yanks and their full sized pick-ups, they ditched it).

LR in their wisdom have deleted Nara Bronze.
They have also deleted Luxor (a sort of light gold) which still appears on the front of the current sales brochure, presumably because it looked so good.
I was going to hold out for it in negotiations with other half but when I discovered it was no longer available I wasn't able to muster much enthusiasm for the other choices so she won.
I wonder how these colour range alterations are arrived at.

In a lot of markets anything over 3.0 gets hammered on the tax front, which is why BMW just keep bolting more and bigger turbochargers on the three litre block rather than adding capacity or cylinders.

Interesting - so presumably it has an SCR system like the V6?

I've got a 2011 TDV8 and I love it. Suits the car very well. If they are going to ditch the engine then then have to replace it with something as, if not more, powerful. I personally don't care what it is V8/V6/1.2 with 12 turbos, doesn't matter too much just needs to be smooth, quick as possible & semi-decent on fuel! 👍
