Evoque Convertible for 2016

They've decided to make it. I can see my colleagues in Florida and California doing very well with this. Interested to see how it's received in Blighty.

I'd have to see it with the hood up to make a judgement, but so far I quite like it.

I think it looks terrible, the proportions are all wrong and with the hood up it's no better (Autocar have some spy pics).

My wife agrees and thinks it's horrid too, we are very early 30s and currently drive a white Evoque so are what you would imagine to be 'target market' for these (other than living somewhere snowy rather than sunny) so I'm wondering if they've not got it quite right this time, or we're just an anomaly.

Because it looks terrible. The proportions are wrong and with the roof down it looks far too high up, as if someone has mis-shapen it and stretched it upwards in Photoshop.

I won't be buying one but it will sell well which is good news for the UK auto industry so job done.

Seen it in the flesh and had a poke around it.

With the roof down it looks pretty good I think.

With it up its, not the best looking creation ever!

I'm itching to have a go off road in it to see how it compares to the normal Evoque. The area which its being built in the factory has been curtained off for a while now, while they build its production cells. Looking forward to having a nose around there once its completed also.

I can see it being a big hit with a certain demographic - i.e Essex/Cheshire style wags. And why not? It's more money and exposure for the Land Rover brand which is never a bad thing.

I disagree, I think it looks quite good (in the pictures anyway)

Doesn't look good with the roof up though which is how you'd drive it 80% of the time

Although for me, I'd rather have a 'normal' car style rag top and an hard top Evoque I think

Think it may have regional success, Essex and Alderly Edge for example.

And Bradford will take the large wheel option, in chrome.

You say that but the UK is a relatively big market for convertibles (poss largest in Europe from memory) and it's a challenge to find a decent 4 seater convertible, so this may fit the bill for some people.

Deposit has been down for a few months - it'll be my wife's run around.

Judging LR's previous models I'm anticipating keeping for just a year and doing fairly well come resale too. Worked for my new Vogue, Sport and SVR...!
