Afternoon,

I've found a 2013 SDV8 Vogue SE for sale at £73,844 (seems a very accurate price!) with 11k on the clock. Thing is it doesn't have a panoramic roof. I'd like one but it's not a deal breaker. Does the price seem good and will I have trouble shifting it a few years without the pano roof?

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks,

P

You are thinking of buying it....when you come to sell it someone else will think of buying it wink

Buy a car for what it's worth to you and not what it will be worth to the next owner.....good luck smile

There are many cars out there without a Pano roof so I wouldn't worry too much...

The numbers at the end are coded depending on the length of time it has been advertised for sale. Can't tenner the decode!

Check thoroughly, watch for their 'admin fee' in the invoice & make sure it is an official LR 'approved used car' not their pseudo version. Same goes for the warranty & servicing......

Got caught with the dodgy warranty myself ... they got the car back and I got my money back ... after a fight !!

Their cars are always the cheapest ... for a reason !!

Pano roof really helps if the interior is all black. If it's contrasting or light then not such a problem. Funny enough Pano roof is not considered as desirable in warmer countries such as mine (Australia), too much UV exposure you see.

RE: Warranty, 5 year Land Rover Warranty should be available and can be negotiated into the deal if they're an authorised dealer. Would strongly suggest you get this.

Judging by the never ending list of issues my L405 has, you'll be needing it!

That sounds expensive (compared to new) but depends what options it has. I have had a couple without pan roof when Land Rover ran out of the glass panels and it is definitely harder to sell them, may get worse as I think they are all having the roof as standard now due to so few being ordered without them. Probably better to spend an extra 12-15k on a brand new car (they are around if you ring a few dealers) and have the peace of mind of a full three year warranty and not worry abaout how it may have been treated by previous owners/drivers.

I'd say the panoramic roof is essential when you later sell the car

I drove one without said roof and light interior - then drove the equivalent car with the panoramic roof and the difference is huge

I think the value of the panoramic roof is the light it allows into the cars interior?

don't open said roof if you are bothered about UV exposure?

Classic case of "each to their own"...I've had pano roofs in my last 3 cars (X5, Q7,Cayenne) and have just taken delivery for a new RRS and I don't miss it at all. Those cars all had a black interiors and my RRS is black and ivory and a lovely place to be. In my last cars I prob used to open the roof 3-4 times a year but the blinds always remained open. It's what floats your boat really. I spent my £2k on 22" wheels which make my car look much nicer than what a pano roof would. Some would say Im mad as it would affect resale but I buy my cars for my enjoyment and not next man's ;-)

I agree each to their own. As above, buy the car for what floats your boat and not the next man. The case in point is that I'm picking up new RRS this week and have a complete opposing view to AMDB9. After having both a Cayenne and Macan with pano roofs it was the first box I ticked in the option list. I would miss the pano roof! Not that I ever open it as its too noisy. The option of the fixed pano roof is perfect. I agree the 22 inch wheels make the car look nicer but for me they make the ride and drive worse so I wouldn't pay the price for them. What works for one doesn't work for another but that doesn't make one persons view wrong and the other right. Buy the car with the option you want.

The FIL has a RR Sport with a pano roof and the fact that it is permanently covered in bird st has put me off having one. Agreed though if you have black leather it does make the car lighter.

Thanks for all the replies. Having thought about it over the weekend I've decided I need the pano roof.

I would never buy a Landrover with any form of sunroof.

they all seem to leak.

The wife had a Freelander 2 with a glass roof, didn't leak but was noisy on the motorway.

Is that based on recent experience or rumours? I have had about forty so far and have not had one which has leaked, I must have been lucky!

My dads Sport has just turned a year old. It's got Ivory interior and the panoramic sunroof. It's well worth the extra and really lightens up the interior. Wouldn't be without it now and the next one wil be the same!

The current RR's are excellent, ours has had no major problems that were the cars fault and were rectified. The sunroof does not leak!!
