Interestingly the new engines are meant to be lighter but the revised vehicle weights have gone up. Strange!

Is it true that the Freelander production line is being shipped to India? They made Knock Down Kit versions, but I've heard it is to be Facelifted, and buiot in country from the ground up and sold as a TATA.

Sorry to take the thread off track.

Seeing more and more Discovery Sports with each passing day. I'll admit I can find merit in anything with a green oval attached to it (even the FL1 hehe) but I really like the way it looks and the concept behind it. I had a good poke around a pre-production one last year at Burghley, and really liked the fact they had gone down the more utilitarian route than the Evoque.

For me the Discovery 4 represents Land Rover doing what they do best, and from a personal point of view, offers everthing I want in a LR product. On first impressions I think the DS is cut from the same cloth, just packaged differently.

Firenze Red/Black is probably my favourite combination alongside the new colour (Kaikoura Stone I think it's called), hope all new owners get on well with their cars smile

I'm seeing a load of them too and like the shape. Wanting to see a Phoenix Orange DS as it looked great on the launch photos.

Have a D4 and love it and might get a DS for the Mrs but I wish they either sold the petrol engine in the UK - they do it in the Evoque in the UK and the DS overseas - or had a diesel with more poke than 180PS.

I have a DS on loan and can't see what is so great about it. To me it feels very cheaply made with annoying rattles already and certainly doesn't feel like a premium product. I think an auto would suit it better but my manual gearbox has a very long throw, widely spaced ratios and an awful gearknob which reminds me of one in a R5 turbo from the 80's. Yuck.

this one of the things I get annoyed with my FL2 about. I want a petrol. They did a petrol, they rolled down the production line at Halewood along with my diesel. How hard would it be considering they build cars to individual specs to let you buy a petrol, A DS with 250 BHP from a petrol engine would suit me down to the ground.

Went into the local dealer on Tuesday to discuss upgrading my 2012 Evoque to a 2014 Evoque that I'd seen online .

In the showroom was a new DS in Phoenix Orange with black pack which looked stunning.

I'm not one for impulse purchases but two days later I picked it up (complete with newly fitted detachable towbar) for much the same price as the Evoque.

Very impressed with the new DVLA service whereby your cherished number can be transferred online immediately.

Sign of the times in Aberdeen that they had a physical car you could actually buy!

Love the car, I would have silver wheels but nothing wrong with black if you like them.

Lovely! I don't think that photo does justice to the paint job though. We need some more photo's at different angles smile

The photo was taken around 6.00 so might be a little dull. If the sun appears again while the car is clean I'll get some more.

The colour looked so bright in the showroom that after I'd done the deal I had second thoughts that it may be a little too glary for me but in natural light it's fine.

Regarding silver wheels it was the combination of orange and black which I liked and black wheels will (I hope) be easier to keep clean or at least wont appear dirty so quickly.

I like the look of them, I have an old RRS and am looking for a change. A boring practical question but how big is the boot, I have 2 dogs :-)

Regards

Jamie

I guess it's practicality depends on what dogs you have, but I'd say it looks similar to a RRS in length and width of the boot space but headroom is less.

We have two labs and haven't tried them in the DS yet but my wife reckons the load space is similar to her RR Vogue.

Agreed. I love my D3 V8, but it's getting a tad long in the tooth now and I'd like to upgrade to a D4, but they only did the D4 V8 in South Africa, US and so on, never in the UK. Grrrr.
