I had privacy glass in my previous three Sports and as they were grey, black and black, thought they looked ok. Doesn't look right on the blue SVR IMHO. This is the benefit of options - each to their own.

Keeping the Pimento red seats in pristine condition was bad enough. I would die with my OCD living with Cirrus seats. silly

Indeed options is what sets us all apart and our preferences on specifications etc.

For me I really hate red seats in white cars as a general rule, I think its bordering on tacky eek . Seems to work with grey and black though.

Cirrus imo looks the best but as you said to the majority of people its just not practical - and if it doesnt look perfect all the time with your condition I'm sure it would drive you absolutely insane!

Congrats nonetheless biggrinclap Ill hope to hear it in the distance at some point! haha

I think the HUD is great. Also, centre cooler box is a no-cost option and good for keeping the champers cool.

Centre coolbox was removed in order to save weight, personally I would be putting it back in.

Bit of a thread revival...I'm not getting enough of reading about the SVR, and its certainly on my wish list once used ones start to drop in value. I just hope my current Sport lasts me that long!

Agree re. the privacy glass, some colours/specs just don't suit it. It took me a while to find my (used, Stornaway Grey) RRS without it, but with everything else I wanted.

The above note did make me chuckle Bungleaio...removing a coolbox to save a few Kgs on a 2.4 tonne car. I'd be putting it back in too! thumbup

Your profile shows you have a 2007 TDV8 - tell us a bit more about your ownership experience (from a prospective buyer of similar vehicle)

Thanks

We'll, I'd struggle to know what I would replace it with other than a newer one. I'm a Porsche Fanboy (I like to think I'm between 911's) but realistically I need something practical and the Sport just does most things very well. Fast enough for what it is, more than luxurious enough, capable of mounting kerbs and verges when you need to (which is about as off-road as mine gets!) and very practical. Great for eating up miles, it really is like driving an armchair.

Sure, it's not the best in any area (though the SVR I'm guessing is closer) but it's just a great all rounder.

For me, it had to be a V8, the 3.6 Tdv8 sounds pretty good and can be tweaked quite easily for more power (I've not bothered). If I could have stretched to it, I'd have gone for a TDV8 with the facelift interior, circa 2010 I think. They did not make many of those before dropping the larger Diesel engine, and I think the rarity may help hold their values. Even if not, I think it's an ideal combination and what I'd recommend.

These cars do seem to be sensitive to spec. Too much chrome etc and it just looks tacky. Get the right spec and it looks classy and only really dated when parked next to a new one.

Mine has been very reliable, though I pay the £750 for warranty every year just for the peace of mind, and it's useful to have little things sorted when it gets serviced that I probably wouldn't bother with otherwise. The SatNav aerial died the other week but not expensive to fix. I was somewhat dreading ownership as you hear so many people moaning about reliability, especially as my closest main dealer is a ferry ride away, but it's been pretty good in the 4 years I've owned it.

Combined mpg is about 26ish...but it never really gets thrashed, it's just nice to mooch about in.

I'm not really one for having a 2nd car/weekend car, which is why the SVR really is top of my list.
