True, but worth a hehe
The market disagrees however
When you say "the market" you mean wives of professional sportspersons, company directors' totty, hairdressers and girls called Tiffany?
No - I think he means the people who buy evoques not your ridiculous stereotypes wink
Ok then....professional sportspersons buying for their wives, company directors treating their totty, hairdressers and the parents of girls called Tiffany?
Range Rover Evoque is the most successful Land Rover from launch ever. It's a great car, a fantastic export revenue earner for the UK and something for all Brits to be proud of. My wife loves hers.

What do you buy yourself and your wife crossflow? Something old, nasty and foreign is my guess.

I'm based in central London and found both lookers battersea and stratstone to be fine, test drives etc. Ended up buying from Stratston. Experience no better or worse than buying from other brands. Key is to remember that the dealer isn't the 'product' as it were!
Would agree re Lookers. Ordered my run out Defender with them and they were fine. Looking at a Disco 4 a month or two back and they were almost too pushy

Had an excellent experience with Peter Vardy main dealer in Aberdeen when ordering an Evoque recently. Very helpful, a lot better than my local dealer and gives us a good excuse for a weekend away when we pick it up.

I have had similar experiences when trying to buy a new Range Rover. Appalling service from Welwyn and Coulsdon.
Can still recommend Spencer at Guy Salmon, Thames Ditton. Now on my third L405.

Corresponded with Hunters Land Rover Derby, via email. I was enquiring about one of their used FFRRs. The email exchange resulted in a patronising 'you can't possibly afford this car' type of attitude. I asked for a finance quote, all the other dealers I have dealt with have provided actual figures and PDFs of the quote. The ahole at Hunters just said, it will be around the £*** - £*** figure... I knew it was a complete guess and well over what the actual figure should have been. He probably lost a sale.

Did you fill out a credit application? It's difficult to be exact without running your credit. Without a credit app the standard rules apply of approximately xx per month for every xx you finance. What he doesn't want to do is give you a firm quote based on excellent credit and then find out that you're an undischarged bankrupt with a string of creditors, especially on a used car. I'll usually say "with excellent credit you can expect a rate around x% which would give you a payment of xx with xx down. If you would like a firm figure we can submit the deal to a bank and get exact numbers."

I don't know how the system works in the UK but here what you do not want is lots of hard inquiries on your credit report as they negatively impact your score. The last thing anyone would do is spray credit apps around to lots of different dealers and ask them to run them.

Been looking for a Vogue SE or Autobigraphy and an Evoque for the mrs for the last month.

Have called seven different dealers and the response from all has been pathetic. Even pre-booked a test drive of a Vogue a week in advance with a dealer nearly an hour away and when I got there they didn't have a car in. Have spent plenty of tme on the phone with various sales guys and they've promised the earth and bugger all back.

Mildly bemused!

I called 4 different dealerships on the weekend, asking to speak to a salesman with regards to ordering a new RRS. Was told by all that I'd get a call back, but no cigar. They're clearly still very comfortable.

I don't begrudge it per se, its just a frustrating state of affairs.
