Defender resprayed - standard colour?
Discussion
Bought this over the weekend. On the body where it's flaked, it appears to be white, with maybe a green/blue and now this red colour.
Is it a standard defender colour? Got a few patches I'm wanting to either touch up, or just respray the whole thing at home.
Whoever painted it before didn't mask up well, red paint sprayed over bits in the engine bay!
I repainted my Dad's Series One at home, I used International brand paint and used a 5" foam radiator roller. The paint was well stirred and kept warm in a bain-marie. Once the bubbles have popped the truck looked less like a cross between a mint Aero and a Land Rover and the end finish was very good; a proper polish and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between rolling and spraying.
Depends whether you want to use the truck in scratcy places (my Dad does) or keep it tidy.
My Bowler was sprayed with two-pack by a friend with a body shop and has been subjected to years of green laning, always looks tidy and shiny after a good wash and doesn't go dull like brushing enamel does.
