Thanks CB.Just to update my local and non-supplying dealer immediately booked the car in for a warranty replacement.
The service manager advised 'they' are aware of poor finish on rear calipers.
One thing I haven't managed to establish yet is whether the replacements are of better quality!

Good news smudger. It seems a common problem so they should sort straight away.Just to update my local and non-supplying dealer immediately booked the car in for a warranty replacement.

Get over to the rrs forum and any other questions you might have will be answered there its a good forum!
Good Luck.
Just had ours replaced under warranty. All is good
Also noteworthy items on the paperwork were:
service bulletin q519 for dpf software update - the issue centres around the dpf not regenerating properly & contaminating engine oil. You'll see a service light appear in the cabin or on the incontrol remote app flagging a service is due. Our is a march 2015 registered RRS with 9k on the clock so not due a service however the ecu realised something was wrong!
front pads & wear sensors replaced on another service bulletin due to squeaking when braking
