LR Customer Service / Breakdowns
Discussion
Here is the story,
Bought an Evoque in March this year (63 plate) from an LR dealer and it has broken down twice in the last six months. Firstly it was a computer glitch that took a week to diagnose and fix and now its a stuck EGR valve, restricted performance etc. LR assist come out to see the car and I had to drive the car to the dealer...apparently it's safe to drive although after about 200 meters it's back to restricted performance.
Obviously I'm not best pleased with the whole ordeal but I realise this isn't as bad as some people have suffered with LR reliability.
Any words of advice from anyone who has suffered similar issues ? Am I going to get anywhere complaining to LR customer services ?
Cheers

I'm not sure LR Customer services care much. I guess with the numbers of cars being sold they don't really need to worry too much.
My FFRR broke down in October this year, like stranded me, then broke down again a month later but only limp home mode this time and the courtesy RRS also broke down with same limp home mode!
I had ordered a new FFRR to replace mine, as I no longer had any faith in it, which arrived last week. On my first trip after collection with just 27 miles on the clock a 'suspension fault' warning light came on.
I think we have to just ditch them or live with the unreliability. I dread talking to LR Assistance if this one breaks!

Get straight onto LR customer relations. Our FL2 has had two major failures (plus a costly fuel pump failure), neither under warranty. The turbo failed, with a bill of £1600, and recently, we lost rear wheel drive. Stage 1 (this assumes no further damage than found so far) of the repair was quoted at £2800. It's been with LR for nearly five weeks, but the they are stumping up 75% of the costs (same for turbo failure), so well worth a call. Customer relations have been great to us, but sadly their products/dealers are woeful.

Wow, I'm amazed you'd spend more money on a new one, especially when the previous one had let you down!My FFRR broke down in October this year, like stranded me, then broke down again a month later but only limp home mode this time and the courtesy RRS also broke down with same limp home mode!

Consider yourself very lucky if its only been twice in 6 months, sounds like one of the more reliable LR products...
Quite! The only good point about my Disco going in for repairs 8 times in 12 months is that I've never actually had to wash it - the complementary valet each time has sorted that! Still love it though! MattS3 said:

I've been lucky to own many cars that have never had anything go wrong including Range Rovers so my guess was that it was just an unlucky and unusual situation that absolutely couldn't continue...or so I thought!Still, I'm up to 100 miles now in it's first week and it's behaved itself since the first gremlin so you never know!
