V5 turned up today.
Service completed and the rear is almost completely fitted out now. All that is left to do is fit the new diff and replace the timing belt which I should get done this week
When it is on the road I will get some better pictures up too

Tinted rear window and tow bar fitted (picture is a couple of weeks old it is all wired up now)
Timing Belt
New torque wrench bought for the setting the belt tension. Apparently it had been on the shelf in my local hardware store or over 20 years!
Timing pins made up. Flywheel locking pin is a Land Rover wading plug with a 4.8mm centre hole. Injection timing pin is a shortened M8 x 1.0 (metric fine) bolt with a 4.0mm hole
Old belt was in good condition and everything came apart easily
New belt fitted and belt tensioned
Easy peasy

When removing the expansion tank hose last week the pipe fitting broke off front the tank. I decided to take the lazy route and just ordered a new one from eBay. This turned up yesterday but annoyingly the hose fitting was the wrong size. I cleaned up the broken tank and realised that the fitting was soldered in, so I went out and bought some plumbing solder and flux and repaired it like I should of in the first place.
Filled her with coolant and thankfully she started and ran perfectly. Just the front diff to do now.
New pressed plates turned up too!

No plans as yet. At the moment I am enjoying the pure simplicity and ruggedness of it all and everything I have had apart so far is in such good condition I hope I can live with it as is. Only time will tell though I guess.
I am used to using classics as daily drivers so am already used to heavy steering and 50mph cruising speed

Pulled the front diff out today. New drivers side half shaft now ordered as well
I got caught short of time today unfortunately (night shifts this week) so I will crack on and finish it off in a couple of days when the rest of the parts have turned up.
I managed to get the diff housing thoroughly cleaned out and the new diff and prop shaft fitted so only a few hours of work left. Looking forward to getting it on the road now! The front axle work all in has ended up at around £130 so it seems to have all worked out in my favour.
Here are some horror pics:

To finish off the full service I pulled the injectors, stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt them with new Delphi nozzles. All leak back tested, set to 2000psi pop pressure and spray patterns checked. All performed a lot better after the rebuild. Fitted back in the car with no leaks and running sweet
