We're having a bit of a life's too short moment so I've reignited the V8 touch paper and found this not too far away. The pics are st and the ad's a bit fluffy but what's the worst that can happen?

Definitely go for a V8 , but that one seems over priced to me, given the mileage and general look of it.

It seemed pricey to me too, but Defender prices are bonkers generally.

I had a quick look on carandclassic and there were a couple cheaper V8s on there, at least one of which appeared tidier. Depending on your budget, for a few grand more than the white one, I think this would be a much better investment http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C692462

That's a bit too pristine and original for me. I'd be worried I was reducing value as I'm not a polisher. It does make the other one look like particularly poor value though.

The white one does look pretty rough. All of the bits that can rust like the body cappings etc, seem to have done so! It does say the chassis is good and bulkhead OK, but I wouldn't believe that until I've seen it. The state of some of the " very good" chassis out there are shocking!

Green one looks tidy, but eqaully they can be tarted up well. Close enough that I may go see what they've got one weekend.

Have a look at it's history with this great site that pulls all the available info into one page:

To me i would say the owner wants rid before it fails next year for major structural work. If you want a project, then fine - otherwise avoid.

I don't mind a project tbh as I'll end up with exactly what I want.

I spoke to him yesterday and he says he's reducing car numbers as he has 5 and one of the others is another Defender. He admitted the bulkhead needs work but reckons it's not needing anything mechanically.

I struggle to get over the asking price though.
