I'm just in the process of buying a 110 County (51 plate with what appears to be a genuine 76,000 miles) but the HPI has just come with it being a CAT D write off in 2009, it's up for £9500, should I still buy it and how much should I try to get knocked off?

I would be more concerned about ringing than dodgy repairs.

Assuming good condition and verifiable ID, could be a bargain. Have a look at MOT history, especially around the time of the write off. Sometimes you can get a hint of what the damage was.
