Not really, I was trying to do a deal on one of their cars a couple of weeks ago and dealt with someone different every day for 5 days!
Touch-wood my experience has been the opposite so far, I've had a salesman who has gone out of his way to help with my inane newbie LR (I'm new to the brand) questions, with direct contact et. Sure,he has gone quieter now he has my deposit, but it's always him who I deal with. If there's one thing that bugs me as a buyer it's when you get passed to the 'business manager' for finance. He has done the whole lot with me.Triple7 said:
Thye wouldn't budge very much at all on their prices, so I never went to see the car, as it was it sold that weekend.
I agree their prices really are non-negotiable, and they would have been happy for me to walk rather than drop the screen-price. They will chuck in extras, but I get the impression the prices for LR are under scrutiny from LR themselves. But on the other hand they are clearly priced to sell, all their stock is the cheapest available in the car's respective age bands, from all LR dealers. Triple7 said:
Are you with Lloyds/Halifax? . Their PCP is way cheaper than dealership and very easy to set up. Failing that, Clydesdale have v cheap finance at 4.2%, but it is just straight loan with a balloon....
Yup, I'm financing through my Lloyds account at 4.6% on the flex PCP option. To the salesman's credit he offered me 6.9% rather than their 10.9% house rate, but even with the slightly higher RV the overall package he offered wasn't as good as the lloyds rate. Wish i'd spotted this thread earlier Kev, would have answered some of my own questions
I'm still confused as per my thread above (possibly a pointless one now) why the engines are offered the way they are. On paper the lower power V6 diesel engine offered in the FFRR appears to perform as well as the higher power motor in the RRS given the size difference between the 2 vehicles, although i suspect the weight difference is probably minimal & yet still with better economy which doesn't really compute. My dealer confirmed that for MY16/17 only 2 true diesel engines exist & that's the SDV8 & TDV6. In the RRS, 3 true diesel power plants exist, that being the SD4, SDV6 & the SDV8.
Also being totally new to this brand, it's apparent as with most things nowadays that the reasoning will be as clear as mud.
