I've just bought a 1990 def 90 with 265/80/R16 tires on it. I have now bought four wheels with 205/80/R16 tires. Managed to get all the wheel nuts off but then couldn't get the wheels to budge. Anyone got any tips on how to get the old wheels off?

wooden or rubber mallet, whacking the wheel not the tyre?

And buy some copper slip before you put the new ones back on smile

As above; alternatively get a hefty block of wood and use that in combination with largest lump-hammer available - rotate the wheel round and apply whacking force as you do so - just take care not to dislodge it off whatever you're jacking up on. (Axle stands under each side would be most stable).

Are they alloy or steelies?

Put the nuts back on but leave backed off a turn or so.
Rock the steering from side to side with the full weight of the car on the wheels.
Does the trick & I've never had any problems doing it that way.

Did you jack the vehicle up wink

Also you sure about the 265/80R16 size??? Never heard of it.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm going to give it another go this weekend.
Yes I did jack it up.
Re tire sizes that are on it they are LT265/75/ R16 and I'm putting 205/80/R16 back on.
Cheers

This is what I've done in the past although sometimes I've resorted to actually driving the car over a short distance; couple of feet. Never fails.

And when you put them back, a little copper grease between wheel and hub will mean it doesn't happen again.
