iPhone 7 and music
Discussion
So after owning the Disco4 for a couple of years, to date I haven't got round to sorting out how to play music from my iPhone. I've now got an iPhone 7 and want to play music in the car via the car stereo using Amazon Prime Music, and also be able to listen to iPlayer Radio etc
Sounds simple right? Wrong.
Having spoken to LR, it amazes me that they don't provide the software or the cables to be able to do this. Or have the functionality to play music via Bluetooth? Even though it already utilises Bluetooth to make phone calls....
For such a high spec car, I find this to be so backward. My Disco is a 2011, I don't know if this problem has been solved in the later models
If half the population have an iPhone in the family, then you've potentially frustrated a lot of people
You can't use USB cable to play music because it doesn't support lightening cable i.e. digital
So for £70, I've bought a couple of devices. Tried it today, and when setting it up it doesn't recognise the device initially, but I then fool it into recognising it, and I can now play my music. I fool it by playing the music, clicking USB on the dash, and then hit iPod and it works.

I read the reviews for the items, and it is a real mix of it does work/doesn't work, so for me, it does work, albeit not seamlessly
Posting this incase someone else is also wanting to do something similar

I think you can put a lightning adapter into the old style cable and it should work. Apparently it should be genuine apple though.
I just use a 3.5mm headphone jack into the Aux port, but guess you can't do that with an IPhone 7 or is there an adapter to give you a headphone socket? If so, that would work.
I keep meaning to get a lightning adapter so I can use Spotify through the USB port.
I believe the newer D4s can stream music over Bluetooth. I have a 2010 HSE
