Bertone Jet !!
Discussion
Hi all.
On Monday I saw what I can only assume is the Aston Bertone Jet 2 entering Excel. I confess I'd never heard of it but the plate was Jet 2. I googled it and saw one was produced as a concept in 2013 but that one was grey/silver. The car I saw was red.
I can't find any reference to a red one, so can anyone enlighten me as to what I saw.
Sadly I was driving at the time so no photo.
Thank you

Hi
The Jet 2 car was a one-off and was (possibly still is) up for sale with Classicmobilia and is, as you say, kind of dark silver/grey
So not sure what you saw. Was it definitely red, not a trick of the lighting? I guess there's a possibility that the car has actually been sold and the new owner got it resprayed red

Hiya Sadly no chance in the near future of another Aston. Now having two grandsons we waft around in an XJL Autobiography which the boys love. Also we went along with our dream and bought a house in Greece which we had thought about for years, so funds are now limited. Who knows in the future.I have seen Jet 2 a few times and think it was meteorite silver or quantum. Interesting that it is now red!!
This Jet thing is bugging me now. The plate definitely JET 2 and definitely red. I was gob smacked cos like I say I'd never even heard of it.

So what did Lady Topaz see? Jet 2 is the registration of the Bertone car - I've just checked on askmid. But if you saw it last week in grey, Di saw it in red this week.lady topaz said:
I must get to Spec Savers as the car I saw was the same as in the photo's and was red. I saw it outside before going into Excel so under daylight and it was red as confirmed earlier by Speculatore.
So wish I could have got a photo.
Very weird.
The one I saw at Goodwood also had the 'JET2' numberplate which in fairness could have been a 'Showplate' rather than the actual registration. So wish I could have got a photo.
Very weird.
Have seen this eye-catching car several times now. Just wondering how this all works and what is in it for the owner? Does it just get transported to various shows for display? Is this to share appreciation of the car or just appreciate its value? Anyway - always wanted a LWB Rapide as the std one is so stumpy and too easy to park - may make a cheeky offer on behalf of the pooch
There's the Jet, Jet 2, and Jet 2+2.
Jet 2+2, based on the Rapide, is for sale. Jet 2 is based on a V12 Vanquish ( http://astonmartins.com/car/bertone-jet-2/ ). Jet is based on a DB4 GT and was at the Bonham's Auction in 2013.

There is information on the internet about the owner.
A true Aston Martin enthusiast, even it seems, driving around the world in an Aston.
