freaky insect excuse for Air Bag light on with RR sport 2

After a few months of the airbag warning light coming on and the low battery warning every time i switch on. My local dealer told me that they would need to strip the drivers seat to repair it, when i enquired why, they said " we have spoken to LandRover and they told us that this is a know fault, as there are insects in the seat, which have been there since the factory, that eat through the wiring and it needs to be resolved by replacing the wiring. Land Rover know about this as they have seen it many times before".

Has anybody else heard of this?
If LR know about it then surely it is a manufacturing defect and should be covered.
Not heard anyhting like this before!
