My first Landrover, a super G4 defender. Great drive back from Bristol - 4 hrs with no problems, good speed and comfy. Engin mod to about 190bhp and ? torque, very flexible engine, air con, all the toys - I love it.

Radio reception not so good but wil have a look tomorrow. The children love it.

Going on a mini adventure tomorrow with the family.....

smile

What is it for exactly? Do you own a farm? Pull heavy things? Are you a doctor or a vet?

Does he have to be?
It's entirely up to him what he chooses to drive, I'd say he made a bloody good choice with a cracking piece of machinery that'll outlast a hell of a lot of the other cars on this forum if looked after.

I will have a look in the pile of invoices. When new the first guy spec it up to £32k !!!!! As per original LR dealer G4 invoice. Sold it after about 1400 miles to 2nd owner who did the tints and engine mod, exhaust, and kept it for 3and a bit years then to me on Saturday.

Air con, tints, spot lights, winch, soft bumber, tow stuf, bonet checker, secure tool box, ali roof, ladder, side steps, rear steps, new stearing wheel, underbody protection, snoorkal, CB radio, xs seats, engine mod, 2 previous owners, full service history, new tyres, 1st class condition.

I agree but, it seems a bit excessive just as a family run about. We had a 110 and it was a great car for towing racing cars, getting through deep snow and getting Dad through to see his rural patients. I can't see why city and town dwellers buy big Defenders. We have just traded in our 10th Land Rover.

Why not buy something for a giggle? TVR? Ferrari? Or a chuckable wee car, like a Civic type-R?

done the fast chuckable car thing, lost my excitement with fast cars. Had a drive in a Civic Type R as a repacement for the Pork, but undecided yet.

So will plod on in the G4 and see if that will do me of if the pork will get any use or if I need a small zippy town car as a replacement for the pork.

So far Ive not stopped grinning with the G4, got the family in, got the push bike in, not worried if it gets dirty inside and had some nice chats to friendly admirers at beech/petrol station/traffic lights .

It also projects a neutral money image for work which is positive for me, whereas the Porsche can create a bad image at work for me. Its still very smart, distinctive, approachable.

Mini adventures are now being dreamt of......

The honeymoon period will wear off. You'll be wanting something that actually has decent room and is better made than a Defender.

Landies have character unlike a lot of modern 4x4's,lots of things are better made than defenders, but we all know that, its part of their charm if you ask me

I use my 90 as a daily driver and love it to bits, would nt change it for the world

Nice truck by the way
